NEVADA
BASED COMPANY INTRODUCES
PERSONAL SECURITY SYSTEM AT CES SHOW
Las Vegas
"James
Bond-type technology is now available to the general public
at an affordable price," according to MRSI® International,
Inc. President/CEO Michael C. Rabanne. The company will
unveil its FoolProof® Personal Security System at
the CES Show in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 8-11. The
portable system is designed to help consumers monitor and
protect their personal possessions from theft or loss 24
hours a day.
Rabanne
said he originally conceived the system to be used on laptop
computers, after a former co-worker returned frustrated
from a business trip after her laptop was either lost or
stolen. He said that in addition to laptops, the system
is perfect for briefcases, golf bags, backpacks and other
desirable products that are often misplaced or major targets
of theft. "The applications are really limitless," he
added.
The FoolProof® system
consists of a master unit about the size of a small cell
phone, and smaller remote devices that are placed in or
on the objects that are to be monitored. One master unit
can monitor multiple remote devices or possessions at any
time. When the remote devices (and the possessions being
monitored that are with them) are removed from a designated
proximity, the master unit first alerts the user by a discrete
vibration. At the same time, and LCD screen on the master
unit will identify which remote devices are being removed
(the remote devices can be named by their user). If the
user does not respond to the vibration, the master unit
will then notify the user by and audible alarm. FoolProof® users
can program specific distances, alert modes, and which
remote device/objects are to be monitored at any given
time.
According
to MRSI® Vice President Steve Ivie, co-designer of
the original FoolProof® system, "Although there
are some other personal security systems on the market
today, FoolProof, has the unique feature of distinguishing
specific items when misplaced or being removed. Part of
the real beauty of the FoolProof® system is that users
can actually identify which items are being tampered with
or removed. Moreover, they can program their master units
to only monitor certain items at one time, if they so desire."
Since
each individual FoolProof® security system operates
on a unique coding an unlimited number of FoolProof® systems
can operate in the same vicinity without interfering with
one another.
Another
feature found on FoolProof® is a tracking tool that
allows a user to locate specific remote devices/personal
effects. This means that as the master unit gets closer
to the remote device, it indicates a decreasing distance.
Suggested retail price for the FoolProof® system is $299.99,
which includes one master unit and one remote device. Additional
remote devices can be purchased two per pack for $99.99.
Retailers can place product orders and receive shipping date
information at the CES show in Las Vegas.
