This state-of-the-art Child Monitor/Locator System enables parents and guardians to monitor and locate their children when they're playing outside, close to home, at a theme park, in the mall, in the airport, or even when they're playing in the backyard. It is equally effective for individuals suffering from Autism, those with special needs, and people with learning disabilities.

When the individual leaves a user-defined range, an alarm sounds on the portable Base Unit carried by the parent. The Base Unit can be put into "Find Mode," used to assist in directing parents back to their children. Each Base Unit can monitor up to 4 tamper-proof Bracelets simultaneously, allowing up to 4 children to be monitored from a single Base Unit. Additional bracelets sold separately.
If the tamper-proof Bracelet is removed from the child's wrist, a tamper alarm sounds instantly at the Base Unit to alert parents. Because the ionKids Child Monitor & Locator signal is not transmitted via cell towers, there are no recurring monthly charges. The parent or guardian uses this small, easy to use device to monitor the location of the Wristag wearer. The Base Unit, a handheld device, allows parents to monitor up to four Wristags simultaneously.

Wristag

The child wears this specially designed tamper-and water-resistant bracelet. The Wristag is designed to be fun to wear and requires no interaction on the part of the child. ionKids Wristags adjust to fit snugly against your child's skin, and contain a strong locking mechanism that cannot be opened easily without a key, which comes with the Base Unit.

Wristags transmit at maximum signal strength upwards of 300 to 500 Feet to the Base Unit depending on environmental factors. Because it uses a point-to-point wireless communication system, the ionKids Wristag does not rely on cell towers or satellites to locate your child, so cloud cover or a building's roof will not prevent you from finding your loved ones.

Every few seconds, ionTechnology simultaneously changes the transmission frequency, Wristag ID and corresponding information in the Base Unit, significantly reducing the chances that a third party can scan or monitor a child's Wristag. Each communication between an individual Wristag and its Base Unit will be transmitted on a different frequency, making it possible for multiple Wristags to be used in the same close environment without transmission interference.

The underside of the Wristag is equipped with sensors that detect the presence of the child's skin. If the sensors perceive an excessive gap between the Wristag and the child's skin, it immediately activates the Wristag Alarm and sends a simultaneous "tamper" alarm to the Base Unit to warn parents of the possibility that the Wristag has been improperly removed.

What if the Wristag is too small: Many families with autistic children, especially older children, or even adults with Alzheimer's do choose the IonKids as a preventative measure for wandering. If the band does not fit, as it has an approximate strap length of 5.5 inches, there is a tag holder option you can purchase for the device.
The actual transmitter that is in the wristband is removable, and can be placed into this tag holder, which you can then clip onto an article of clothing on your child, or adult. One thing that we do suggest is that you lock the tag on with a small suitcase lock as an extra security measure to insure the wearer does not remove device.
