Licensing
Technology licensing, and in particular patent licensing,
is an important part of our company's business strategy.
We understand that the most priceless resources are often
an idea, along with the right to profit from it.
This reality is transforming businesses and creating new
partnerships that would otherwise be competing over market
share. MRSI understands that the right to profit from a breakthrough
idea can be so valuable that the contest over the concept
can be more decisive than the competition for consumers.
Wanting to be a part of this new revolution, MRSI is now
offering licensing Agreements to the monitoring and tracking
industry.
Patent Licensing and Deal Structures
MRSI licenses include patent claims to revolutionary methods
used in the monitoring and tracking of people, pets, motorized
vehicles and personal effects.
Our patent portfolio consists of over 200 patent claims and
applications that are pubic knowledge and documented in United
States Patent Numbers: 6,084,517 – 6,570,504 – 6,304,186 – 6,989,748
and many other patent pending applications. MRSI has also
filed multiple patent applications in Europe.
MRSI currently offers non-exclusive patent licenses in several
fields of use, including:
- Integrating wireless technology inside a battery for
the monitoring and tracking of consumer electronic devices.
Applications for use are the monitoring and tracking of
laptops, cell phones, automobiles, boats and any other
product that uses a variety of battery sizes.
- The method of selectively activating or deactivating
communication between a parental control unit and multiple
child units. Applications are for tracking children, pets
and personal effects utilizing RFID or GPS technology.
- The method of selectively activating or deactivating
multiple child units from a cell phone. Applications are
the monitoring and tracking of children, pets, motorized
vehicles and personal effects from a cell phone.
- The method by which a parental control unit can detect
an external frequency (such as an aircraft beacon) and
automatically deactivate communication between multiple
child units (sleep mode). This method of use can enable
the parental control unit to board an aircraft and go automatically
into “sleep mode” so the device does
not interfere with onboard navigational systems. Applications
are for tracking luggage, laptops, purses, handbags, children,
pets and any personal effects while on aircraft.
For companies, most payments to MRSI are tied to the successful
commercialization of their products. For non-profit institutions,
no payments are due unless commercial revenues are received.
Patent Infringements
The rights of patent owners are protected by the law in the
sense that any patent infringements are an offense against
the law, an offense that can be stopped effectively by the
relevant courts in the jurisdictions where the patent infringement
occurs. Patent infringement damages can be very costly to
the infringing party.
MRSI International, Inc. aggressively prosecutes all infringement
activity.
